If you are in the state of Michigan this coming weekend, check out the Rochester Fire and Ice Festival. This annual event is scheduled this year for January 27 through 29th and features a spaghetti dinner, entertainment, ice sculptures, and horse drawn trolley rides and much, much more. Of course, the much, much more that we like the best are the free firework shows on both Friday and Saturday evenings that light up the dark winter sky and make the ice and snow sparkle magically.
After all the festivities of the Christmas and New Year’s Eve, folks in Rochester sure know how to keep the fun going. After a full day of ice skating, building snowmen and shopping in the downtown district, what better way to unwind than to kick back with a cup of steaming hot cocoa and admire beautiful fireworks that turn the sky into a masterpiece? Sure, it’s cold and you could stay home under the covers, but why not embrace what the area has to offer in the winter – fire and ice!
If you’re not in Michigan, then enjoy your own backyard snow festival. Just load up on sparklers, fountains and Roman candles and just watch how fast the neighbors jump into their parkas and come over!
