The United Arab Emirates city state, home to the world’s tallest tower, largest man-made island and one of the world’s busiest airports, hosted the six-minute firework show over the two manmade islands in the harbor. A seemingly endless display of colorful fireworks designed specifically for the even went off beautiful to a choreographed musical soundtrack. In addition, a spectacle of dancing water fountains mesmerized the crowd.
This kind of professional firework show isn’t a one man gig, it literally takes a village. More than 200 pyrotechnicians worked together to launch off the nearly half-million fireworks from 400 locations including the centerpiece, 2,716-foot Burj Khalifa tower.
Known for its sparkling, high-rise shoreline, this capital has obviously bounced back from the global financial crises that began in 2009 – from the looks of the firework show, it was all glitz and glamour all the way.
