Earlier last month West Palm Beach threw a fun shindig called SunFest that attracted thousands and thousands of revelers to the waterfront on May 2 through May 6. This Florida event, in its 29th year, is a popular party that kicks off the warm weather season and the region’s worship of sunshine. Of course, there were fireworks, but more about that in a bit. First, a big draw to SunFest is the star-studded lineup of musical acts. The musical stages where hopping with headlining bands including the Counting Crows, Creed, The Fray, Third Eye Blind, Foreigner, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, All American Rejects and many, many more. Floating barges featuring party drinks and fun, a youth park with activities for families with kids, an art show, and a “Coconut Ball” soiree. But for the firework fans, the best part of SunFest didn’t even take place during the sun-filled hours of daylight — was the grand finale of fireworks on Sunday, May 6th. An arrangement of fine fireworks lit up the sky, a colorful cap to a vibrant weekend. If you missed the whole thing, head down to the West Palm Beach waterfront on May 1 though 3rd to catch the 30th anniversary of SunFest. Or, celebrate the sun in your own backyard with lots of “hot” fireworks from AllSpark Fireworks.
