What could be better than fireworks than chocolate AND fireworks?! As a fan (and you might even say, an expert) of both these indulgent treats, I truly can’t believe that I didn’t learn about “chocolate fireworks” until just the other day!
Apparently, the Guinness world record for the largest chocolate firework was set on Zürich, Switzerland on December 31, 2002. The unusual firework created by Nestlé, measured 3m high and 1.5m in diameter and containing 60kg of Swiss Cailler chocolates. Okay, people – 60kg is like 132 pounds of chocolate!
I have yet to understand how the heat of the firework didn’t make the chocolate melt once the fuse was lit. But who cares?! Whether the delicious firework rained down wrapped candies or just dripped melted chocolate, I’d have been perfectly happy to stand there with my head tilted back and mouth open!
I’ve searched all over the web to find a photo of this flavorful firework experience, but have come up with nothing – for now you will just have to use your imagination. In a pinch, I think I’ll just eat a jumbo-sized chocolate bar and pop off firecrackers from AllSparkFireworks.com.
