The ‘Transient Rainbow’ is another oldie but goodie ‘explosion event’ created by pyrotechnic performance artist, Cia Guo-Quang. The famous firework show creator, best known around the world for his work at the Beijing Olympic, has literally set the art world on fire!  His work has been featured in major museums around the world including the Guggenheim in New York, the Zhejiang Art Museum in China, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.  In fact, the co-curator of his exhibit at the Guggenheim says that “Cai Guo-Qiang has literally exploded the accepted parameters of art making in our time.”
A spectacular sight for sure, the ‘Transient Rainbow’ shoots up carefully planned colors of mortar shells and fireworks that burst out into the familiar arch of a rainbow. This is one rainbow that is way more awesome than the pot of gold that might wait at the base! The colors are perfectly arranged in the spectrum and the timing is precise so that the rainbow starts building on one side, staying lit with sparkles until in arches over to the other bottom end.  This display has been shot off many times since its beginning more than a decade ago. If your ever lucky enough to see it shot off again, make sure you do! If not, you can create a colorful array of fireworks in your own backyard with top-notch goodies and gear from AllSpark Fireworks. Check out the artillery shells if you’re looking to make a high-up in the heavens statement.
